Picture 1: Today I presented my final project for my practicum program at Texas Children's Hospital, three weeks earlier than anticipated.  Due to precautions with the Covid-19 virus, the remainder of my program was unfortunately suspended. I am so grateful to have completed my child life practicum in this incredible place. Texas Children's is truly an environment where children can heal, thrive, and just BE KIDS. I have been able to learn from some of the most knowledgeable and compassionate child life specialists, and some of the strongest, most inspirational, and resilient patients.  My time in this hospital over the last ten weeks has left me feeling full of hope, joy, and gratitude.  I am in awe of the power of child life, and I am leaving Texas even more excited for my future as a Certified Child Life Specialist than ever before. Texas, i hope to be seeing you again soon.

Picture 2: Before leaving Houston, I felt a calling to give back to the community by making lunches for those experiencing homelessness in my area.  Leaving Denton, I had the same opportunity to give back as we served over 90 lunches to school children and teens on just our bus route alone. While people run to stores and stock up on more food and supplies than they can consume, remember that many families are struggling with food insecurity with the inability to rely on school meals to feed their children.  Without much else to do during this time, find a way to give back and serve others.  There is a need for kindness and support right now more than ever before.

Picture 3: Headed home on a flight from Dallas, with 50 people on board. I have the row to myself.
